Content

Pakk is not a website building platform. Having said that, Pakk does allow you to make great websites - stores, content sites or mixed.

  • Feature blocks

  • Pages

  • Forms

  • Posts

  • FAQs

  • Feed

All of these content types have their place in an active web store, but choosing which content type to use can sometimes be a little tricky. Of course, there are no hard-and-fast rules and in many cases, two or three of the content types could work fine. So, before we dive deep into FAQs, lets briefly try to summarise the content types and make some recommendations as to where to use each.

All content you create is:

  • Translatable: create the base content in your account languages then add any languages in which you want the content to be available

  • Reusable: create content once and reuse in different combinations across your different sites

Markdown

Content editing in Pakk is done with a text-formatting language called Markdown

What is Markdown?

Markdown is a simple formatting language that allows you to add just a little bit of richness to a chunk of text without completely messing up your layouts. Here are the kinds of things you can do with markdown:

  • headings

  • bold and italic

  • lists

  • images

  • lines

It can do quite a bit more too, click on the little ? icon in the bottom-right corner of any Markdown textbox for a full guide.

How do I put symbols and Emojis in text?

You can use Unicode to spice your text up. Just find a good online resource for Unicode symbols (like this one) and copy-paste the characters you want to use.

Yes, you can put images or links in any textbox that accepts Markdown input. You can identify such fields easily because of the dark blue background. Click on the little ? icon in the bottom-right corner of the textbox for help with Markdown.
