Postmark Setup
Our email services are powered by the industry leading Postmark email service
What infrastructure does Pakk use for email sending?
We use Postmark for sending transactional emails because they have the fastest and most reliable delivery rates in the business.
Can I use my own email server for sending?
No, that's not an option at this point.
Can I get more control over my email sending in Postmark?
Yes. By default your Pakk account will use our own Postmark account for outgoing message sending, but we can set up a custom 'sub account' for you which gives you greater control and visibility.
How can I set up a custom Postmark sub-account?
There are a few, simple steps involved.
Talk to us - we'll open the sub-account for you.
We'll then give you a couple of DNS records which you'll need to add to your domain with your domain provider.
Once your domain is verified for sending, we'll give you a few codes that you'll need to enter into in your Pakk Account settings.
We'll send you a login invite to access your Postmark sub-account.
What are the advantages of using a custom Postmark sub-account?
There are quite a few:
Your 'sending reputation' will now be isolated from all other Pakk users, meaning any spam/bounce issues that they experience will not damage your reputation as a sender.
You will have login access to Postmark, meaning you can view all your message sending history, stats and activity.
You'll be able to diagnose and action any sending/deliverability issues directly in your Postmark account.
You'll be able to unblock any email addresses that have been suspended due to hard bounces or spam reports.
Emails will actually be sent from your domain, rather than a *pakk.store domain, which looks much more professional.
You will be able to view incoming email (i.e. for your help desk/ticket system) directly in Postmark, helping diagnose any issues in received email formatting, for example.
